How Can I View the Opening and Closing Prices on My MT5 Chart?

In MT5, buy and sell orders are executed using different price types.

How Orders Are Executed

• Buy orders are opened at the Ask price and closed at the Bid price.
  
   
• Sell orders are opened at the Bid price and closed at the Ask price.
  
   

By default, MT5 charts display only the Bid price line.

How to Display the Ask Price Line

To enable the Ask line on your chart:

1. Right-click anywhere on the chart.
   
    
2. Select Properties.
   
    
3. Go to the Show tab.
   
    
4. Enable “Show Ask price line.”
   
    
5. Click OK.
   
    

The Ask price line will now be visible on your chart.

Displaying both Bid and Ask lines can help you better understand spreads and trade execution.
